To My Younger Brothers and Sisters

Older Brother happily dies in peace for the sake of the Great Japanese Empire and His Majesty the Emperor.
Rejoice that even this brother of yours is of use to His Majesty, to say nothing of the fact that you must become far more capable than me.
If you wish to remember me offer a cup of water before my plain-wood memorial tablet.
When I was alive I had not guided you carefully as an older brother should and I was not a good example. I pray that you follow my footsteps and fight even harder for the Empire.
Furthermore, do not forget to do Older Brother”Ēs portion of filial duties.
1. Live the path of great loyalty and filial piety.
2. Never forget His Majesty the Emperor and Father and Mother.
3. Always look after your health.
4. A man must be manly and a woman be womanly.
5. Let everyone treat Manpei with loving care.
6. Work together in harmony to restore our family name.
