The purification basin in this pavilion was presented to Yasukuni Jinja in 1940 by an association of Japanese veterans residing in the United States. It is made of granite and weighs eighteen tons.
A purification basin donated from Tsu Domain in the year of the shrine’s founding, 1869, once stood here, but it is now used inside the Assembly Hall.
