Dr. Radha Binod Pal was the representative from India during the 1946 International Military Tribunal for the Far East (commonly known as the Tokyo Tribunal). Among all the judges, he was the only one who pointed out the illegality of the tribunal and judged all the defendants as not guilty based on his expertise in international law.
The monument was built in 2005 to honor Dr. Pal’s courage and passion.
